Here are quick photo updates of the under construction Gaisano Grand Mall of Polomolok

As shown in the photo below, the entire Gaisano Grand Mall of Polomolok building is now fully enclosed.

A construction worker disclosed that they are now making preparations for exterior metal cladding and painting of the building's facade. The grounds around the entire building has been cemented including the soon to be wide parking area and construction of drainage canals around the vicinity is still on going.
When completed, the people of Polomolok and neighboring towns need not go to General Santos City  for their shopping needs. Gaisano Grand Mall of Polomolok will be the second mall of the Gaisano Grand Group in South Cotabato (the other one is in the City of Koronadal) and the 7th Gaisano Grand mall in Mindanao.

We all look forward for the completion and opening of Gaisano Grand Mall of Polomolok.

Check out the location of Gaisano Grand Mall of Polomolok using the Google Map below.

Tagalogis Philippines’ national language, I bet all of us living in the different parts of the country knows how communicate by means of it. It is just one of more than 80 indigenous languages and dialects in the country. Aside from Tagalog, dialects like Cebuano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon, Bicolano, Waray-Waray, Pampangan, Pangasinan, and Maranao are also widely spoken. In difference, though most of the locals in South Cotabato are Hiligaynon/Ilonggo speaking, other parlance such as Cebuano and T’boliare also in subsistence. If you will visit South Cotabato and you feel that you might be out of place because you can’t understand what the locals are talking about, go ahead and converse with them with these simple words translated in the local dialects.

Sikat, the school of Indigenous Knowledge and Traditions

Concrete, air-conditioned rooms, painted walls, fancy and colorful decorations, inclusive educational facilities and students wearing their official school uniforms, that’s how we usually describe what a school looks like but if you go to Lake Sebu, South Cotabato you’ll change your view as soon as you’ll see T’boli School of Indigenous knowledge and traditions.

The school’s structure is simple, almost of the materials used are bamboo and cogon, chairs aren’t that prominent for the students are just sitting on the flooring, colorful decorations are replaced with  indigenous clothings and instruments, the students are wearing tradional attires as their uniforms and the teachers don’t have any titles attatched after their names but what makes this school one step ahead of the others are the people who
offer their time, financial support, talents, dedication and love just to put up this institution that aims to preserve the T’boli’s artistic quality and traditions and convey it to the younger generation.

Moreover, performing for the the tourists are the students major exposure, it’s when they showcase their talents and what their teachers taught them, but beyond every actions of their body, sways of their hands and move of their feets are the artistry and the way of life that they express in every performances. It’s so eccentric that an institution like the Sikat school of indigenous knowledge and traditions where important customary values are taught captures a great extent of interests from tourist and not as much from the locals specifically from entities who are capable of extending assistance not only for the improvement of the school’s structure but also for the pecuniary support for both teachers and students.

and to include the school in the itenerary of every tours in Lake sebu is absolutely an immense help in promoting the effervescence and significance of T’boli’s ethnicity in South Cotabato.

SIKAT is definitely an exceptional feature that Province of South Cotabato can be proud of. Knowing that this is where our T’boli brothers and sisters developed their talents and where their culture and traditions can be greatly experience, this institution certainly deserves to be a precedence.
Just like what other people felt during their visit at the school, it’s beyond the entertainment that SIKAT can offer, it’s a glimpse of the T’boli’s rich and vibrant tradition.
