Xtreme Dancers from Koronadal City is Sayaw Pinoy 2016 Hip Hop Dance Champion
Out of 18 entries from all over the country, Xtreme Dancer's piece “Makata” emerged as the grand prize winner of the Sayaw Pinoy 2016 Hip Hop Dance Competition by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
Xtreme Dancers, one of the top dance groups in Koronadal City took home a trophy and a P70,000 cash prize.

Yellow Bus Line will have Koronadal- Gensan Airport route soon
Yellow Bus Line, Inc. (YBL) will soon have a bus route from Koronadal City to the General Santos City Airport, this is according to a poster installed at the YBL Terminal in the City of Koronadal as shown below.
That's a good news for travelers to and from South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and neighboring places.

Temporary closure of Lake Holon to visitors to begin January 7
The municipal government of Tboli has announced the temporary closure of Lake Holon to visitors beginning January 7, 2017.

In a memo issued on January 3, Tboli Mayor Dibu S. Tuan directed the local tourism unit to temporarily close to visitors the entrances going to Lake Holon starting January 7 until March 10, 2017.

"The local tourism economic industry was soaring high in 2016. For this, we wanted to conduct routine breathing time of the lake" stated in the memo addressed to Municipal Designated Tourism Officer Rodel Hilado.

Dubbed as the "Crown Jewel of the South", Lake Holon is the 304-hectare crater lake of Mt. Melibingoy. The lake has been named as one of the cleanest inland body of water in the country and is now among the favorite tourist destinations in South Cotabato and SOCCSKSARGEN region.
During the period the following will be also conducted:
- Training and refresher course of the frontline personnel
- Rehabilitation of the facilities
- Biodiversity assesment of the area

KNCHS bags Hinugyaw Festival 2017 Drumline Competition Championship
Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS) emerged champion in the recently concluded Drumline Competition of this year's Hinugyaw Festival held at the South Cotabato Sports Complex yesterday, January 5, 2017.
KNCHS bested four (4) other contingents coming from different parts of South Cotabato and bagged the P90,000 cash prize and a trophy.
Last year's winning group - Alah Valley Academy from the Municipality of Surallah settled as 1st Runner-up this year with a cash prize of P65,000 and a trophy, while Esperanza National High School and Christian School of Polomolok were declared 2nd Runner-up and 3rd Runner-up respectively.
The contingent from KNCHS- Annex in Brgy. Paraiso received a consolation prize.
